چکیده
Abstract Biomass from various sources such as cow dung is a significant source of renewable energy (as biogas) in many regions globally, especially India, Africa, Brazil, and China. However, biogas production biomass cattle slow, inefficient biochemical process, the specific produced per kg relatively small. The improvement efficiency using dilution ratios (and, hence, total solids [TS]) investigated this work. A wide range feed (FD) dung: water (CD: W) was tested batch digesters with ranging 1% to 12.5% FD ratio 2:1 1:20. To further verify results above experiments, semi-batch experiments representative field-scale biodigesters were conducted. Semi-batch reactors have steady-state unlike reactors, which an unsteady state process. Our suggested that (mL/g VS) increased continuously when decreased (or increased). also indicate commonly used 1:1 (TS ~ 10% for dung) does not produce maximum production. possible reason could be anaerobic digestion at higher rate limited due substrate inhibition, mass transfer limitations, viscous mixing problems arise concentration. Hence, between 1:2 1:4 4 6.7%) recommended more efficient utilization cowdung. Empirical relationships developed variation yield content slurry. Graphic abstract

A new kinetic model for biogas production from co-digestion by batch mode
Coming out from the growth kinetics, the Gompertz model has been developed and considered as the best one for simulating the biogas production from anaerobic digestion. However, the model has failed to describe the starting point of the process, and no-sense of lag phase constant has been pointed out. Thus, the goal of this study is to develop a new kinetic model of biogas production with meani...
متن کامل2. Production of Biogas by Anaerobic Digestion
Anaerobic digestion is a natural process in which bacteria convert organic materials into biogas. It occurs in marshes and wetlands, and in the digestive tract of ruminants. The bacteria are also active in landfills where they are the principal process degrading landfilled food wastes and other biomass. Biogas can be collected and used as a potential energy resource. The process occurs in an an...
متن کاملBiogas production by anaerobic co-digestion of cattle slurry and cheese whey.
Biogas yield of mixtures of cattle slurry and cheese whey, rates of production of methane, removal efficiencies of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biological oxygen demand (BOD) were investigated at 35 °C. Stable biogas production of 621 l/kg volatile solids at a hydraulic retention time of 42 days in a mixture containing 50% slurry and whey was obtained. The concentration of methane in the bi...
